I am looking to purchase a used ford flex but having a hard time locating one with captains chairs in the second row. It sounds like you can swap a bench for a captains chair so if anyone is interested let me know. I'm in Columbus, Ohio. Thanks

It's an easy swap. 4 bolts per seat. Here is a set of Medium Light Stone from an 09-12 Limited available close to you; https://www.fordflex...hp?f=15&t=18745

The black ones are more common and the seats from a Freestyle, Taurus X and the current style Explorer also fit. The only problem is if you have the inflatable seat belts, then its more involved.
