Yesterday I noticed that the center console outlets stopped working. At the same time my iPhone Bluetooth will not sync up SYNC. It sounds like a fuse but I thought I will ask before I tackle it.

What year Flex? And are you talking about the USB Port, the AUX Port or the Power point?

Does Sync work? In the wiring diagrams for the 2011 both the USB and AUX run through the APIM, aka Accessory Protocol Interface Module. This is the heart of Sync. If you find that it's bad I have one I will sell for $25.00 It's a real bi*ch to get at! Its buried in the center console just under the bezel with the power point, USB port & AUX port. I found out where it was when I added the Ambient lighting to my SE and took the console apart and to do that you take the front seats out!

But before you do that check fuse F14 in the SLB aka Smart Junction Box (Fordspeak for the fuse box under the dash)

Hi Swagger wagon,

Let me know.

Center console repair sounds like a real pain to me, as my son recently took my Flex and apparently broke the plastic center console piece. The one that has got a gear shifter and 2 cup holders in. And the worst thing is not just the huge crack out there, but that irritating buzz it creates when you drive. I hate it and even got the replacement plastic piece already (https://www.carid.com/center-consoles/). Now need to find some time to do the swap and finally forget it... PS Luckily all the electronic stuff is fine.

Replacing the cover isn't that big of a job. First, use a panel tool to pry the chrome trim ring around the gear shift up. There are 4 tabs holding it on, 2 on each side about an inch or so from the front and back edges. Then open the center console and pry up the rear edge of the cover ahead of the latch. You will have to put the gear shift in neutral to finish getting the cover off. If you have the ambient lighting there will be a connector at the front of the bottom of the cup holder to disconnect.
