I am planning to install the OEM Ambient Lighting in my 2011 SE. To accomplish this I have been acquiring the various required parts. In doing so I have managed to amass enough parts for more than one system. If you have a 2009-2012* SE or SEL and would like to add the OEM Ambient lighting, then this is the deal you have been waiting for.

This is the Ambient lighting found in the Limiteds. The "kit" includes 5 LEDs and lenses, the lighted ring cupholder assembly, the control module, the illuminated switch and the replacement bezel for inside the center console and obviously the wire harnesses.

The LED placement is as follows;
2 LEDs go in the rear cover on the center console to light up the 2nd row footwells, 1 LED goes in the center console just forward of the bezel holding the power point, Aux plug and Sync USB port, and 1 each that go in the front row footwells just above the vent under the center stack. The lighted ring cupholder assembly will replace your existing cupholder.

While these are "Experienced" parts, electronics don't wear out. They are good or they aren't. I have tested the set and all 5 LEDs and the cupholder work and cycle through the 7 colors. Also included is a bonus connector you will use to tie into your car's wiring. The connector pigtail has 3 wires. 1 to power the circuit, 1 to provide the illumination for the switch and 1 ground.

And now the price. This will cost you $175.00 shipped in the US. Pictures of the various components are available upon request.

Current pricing from Tasca will be right about $350.00. Don't confuse this with the Ford Accessory Ambient lighting kit which sells for about $200.00 and only includes the front footwell lights and LEDs that you install in a hole you drill in your existing cupholder.

*while I don't know this to be true I suspect you can at least add the 5 LED's to the "13 & up SE or SEL.

Here is a picture of the set "MacGivered" to light up. You can see the illuminated cupholder, the module, the switch & bezel for inside the center console, the 5 LEDs & lenses and the "bonus" connector to tie into your car's wiring.

I have another kit for sale, $150 shipped in the US. If you want to mount the switch in the space where the liftgate switch would be (if you don't have the power liftgate) let me know and I will lengthen the lead for the switch and delete the bezel for mounting in the center console.

I would have to get $150 + shipping for this one. Would you want to mount the switch in the console, or on the dash where the liftgate switch mounts?

If you send me your email address I’ll send you the installation instructions I put together and you can see if you want to take the job on.
