Patrickp welcome...If you call ford they'll tell you they'll look into it... and to pay for your repairs keep your receipts and they might reimburse you if there's a recall... good luck....

I was wonder if Satweed, Aquamanchef, Juanoverpar, Desmondsmith, Ang0314, Firetechandy, Kstringerford, Dananderson or Susaninitaly have gotten any answers or any resolve to this problem from customer service after they were contacted????

I certainly appreciate Ford customer service reaching out about this (thanks Meagan!), but has anyone gotten any useful information back from Ford about this problem?  I have not yet, and remain confused and upset by my costly experience with it.

I simply don't understand why I had to pay ~$1000 for what seems like poor design and poor build quality?  I suppose the design value of replacing a $5 fan belt with a complex $1000 computerized cooling fan module is debatable, but if Ford's gonna do that, they should at least make sure the $1000 module is built to last longer than 45k miles (in my case).

Based on this thread and some others above, it seems there are quite a few unlucky customers like me.

All of the above still applies for me

Just thought I would add my two cents here.  My 2009 Flex is now overheating and doing the same A/C things.  I will probably just buy my own parts and replace them myself.  I have always bought Fords, but I am very disappointed with this particular issue.  It appears that Ford is just ignoring it.  My dad has a Ford F150 with over 300k miles and it is still running great.  Why cant a simple problem like a cooling fan get a little attention?  This is disappointing.

I bought mine used and one of the fans was out. Thankfully the other one was on but working overtime. Diagnose that it wasn't the A/C switch first, then got a new one on Amazon for $240. Installed it myself. Pretty easy. Made a video below. Also, if you buy the Motorcraft fan there is a 2 year warranty on it.
