2009 Toyota Seinna,to early to make comparisions but the Flex has a much smoother ride and quieter cabin after only 3 days to compare. Seinna got much better gas mileage though but hopefully economy will go up after break in.

We took our first camping trip in our Flex this past weekend. As I mentioned in the OP, the Flex replaced a Volvo V70. We've yet to get the roof rack (cross members, we have the factory rails) but we were able to accomodate all our camping gear inside the Flex where we needed the roof box for the Volvo.

I felt as if I was in a tire commercial on the way down the mtn from Big Bear (Cali) as it rained all weekend and several boulders had fallen onto the road. I was happy that we had the ground clearance for many of them, and the handling to go around the larger ones.

Glad to see this thread is still alive!

My Flex replaced my well-used 2006 Grand Marquis.
Things I will miss:
Plush ride
Self leveling rear air suspension
Leather seats
Good mid range torque for highway passing
People getting out of my way thinking I am a cop
Cops thinking I am an old man and not giving me a second look

Things I will not miss:
Constant electrical problems
Squeaks and rattles (hopefully the Flex is better)
winter-time rear drive antics/antique traction control
Self leveling rear air suspension problems and expense
Rear seats don't fold down to access trunk limiting size of items you can put in there

Looking forward in the Flex:
Sitting up higher
Lots of configuration choices
Long items will fit easily
Very quiet compared to many cars
Sync

No so sure about right now:
Poor access to fuse box
No good place to put portable GPS and plug it in without some "re-engineering"
Power point up front not convenient
Some of the trim looks to be a little too easy to scratch
Metal flake in paint not terrible, but not good, either

We replaced a 2005 Vw Touareg 4.2L V-8.
With the 2011 Sel Bordeaux Reserve Red Metallic with a White top.
We totally love the Flex .
Starting the process to put some rims and tires to change out the look .
Will post some pictures when it is done.

the instant recognition
manual transmission
The thrill of the horsepower
Kids pointing at "Bumblebee"

What I will not miss:
Average MPG of 14
Not being able to fit a car seat
Insufficient trunk space

What I couldn't live without that the Flex has:
Room, room, and more room
Sync/Nav/Backup camera
Vista roof
Power lift gate
Refrigerated console
Room for 6!

The 2010 Flex replaced my 2000 GMC Sierra. It had 228,000 miles on it and all except the first 5K were mine.

I miss everything about it.

I do, however like all kinds of stuff about the the Flex:

SYNC
4 Doors!
Remote start
Heated seats
Still tows a little
Gets gas mileage, instead of mile gasage
Lots of space in the back

Our Flex replaced a 2003 Grand Caravan which we enjoyed very much, but it got expensive to keep on the road the last year.

2008 Toyota Highlander
I miss the engine it had. Great combo of power and economy.
Don't miss the cheapness of many of the interior pieces.
I like the look and the quietness of my Flex. Got a good engine with the Flex but can't match the economy of the Highlander and that had AWD while my Flex only has FWD.
I live in a GM town so not many Ford Flex around, which is something I like.
Everywhere you look its Acadia's, Traverse's and Enclaves

We had a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer with about 178,000 miles. I loved the SUV, but it's time had come and on the better things.

What Ill miss:

MPG @ 30

that is all lol it was too small for us from the beginning

I LOVE everything about the flex. from the "range rover" styling to all the features inside.

Only thing I REALLY didn't like about the Flex is the remote start shut off. pissed me off lol but 10 mins of reprogramming its fixed!!!!

2010 M-B 450GL. Great car. Not enough leg room in second row though. My kids got too big. Flex has lots of room back there.

Sold my wife 2004 Jeep Liberty, hated that crappy jeep,  short wheelbase for a bumpy ride, engine noise on the highway,  no room to store my 7’6” fishing rods. Haul stuff for camping no room when having kids.  Also sold the crappy Jeep day after the latest recall announced about the gas tanks catching on fire from a high speed rear end collision.  Reminds me of the Ford Pinto BBQ people from a rear end collision.   I love the boxy look of the flex the room inside is amazing, leather seats with the warmers/coolers. Longer wheelbase for a smoother ride. Glad that I got the extended premium care warranty for 7 years 100,000 miles I will keep this thing until the doors fall off.
