My dealer never mentioned anything in that regard. He didn't even suggest to do a locator search for one like we wanted. Besides, everyone knows that Ecoboosts are in hot demand and hardly anyone has them on their lots.

My Ecoboost will be the first one to be delivered by my dealer. That is how many he has on his lot. He does, however, have 7 non turbo Flexes sitting there and for some time too.

At the end of the day, I am quite sure he lied to me about ordering it in Jan, when clearly the order form says Feb 19.

My dealer did not want to locate either, but I force the issue to avoid ordering. They gave me all kinds of grief about it and when we did find something close they wanted to charge us $700. They would not tell me where it was other than it was in another state. With a little bit of detective work I found the dealer who had what we wanted, called them up to see if they would do a trade which they agreed. Went back to the original dealer and told them the dealer would trade (which was the reason they claimed they had to charge $700),

As I found out through the process Ford no longer transfers the hold back with dealer trades, unless two dealer are willing to trade cars with similar hold back they will not trade these days. In my case they traded a Focus since the were selling well at the time which did not have the same hold back, and they did want to make up the difference but I had an X-Plan so they were not allowed.

The other things I found out is most all dealer are required to take so many cars from the Manufacturers, these are their allocations an these are built at certain time in the production process. When you place an order you order will depend on the next time the dealer has an allocation being built unless he is willing to take an extra car or can bump another dealer allocation slot. What might have happen with your order was the dealer next allocation spot was not for a number of weeks and they were not willing to take another car to their allocations since he probably has more cars sitting around than he knows what to do with.

I am kind of curious why not too many Eco-Boost are on the lots when it came out last summer, I am kind of surprised I have not see many Flex with it. I have seen a few Tauruses with it but not much else. However, the Flex is not a big item on the lots that is for sure, all the Dealers around me only have a hand full or two on the lots.

You may very well be right with the allocation thing. But then why didn't the dealer mention it when taking my order or the few weeks after the fact when I was following up?

Maybe your dealer is a MoRan! That's two morons sewn together in case you didn't know!

Not all dealers know what they are doing, in fact when I bought my Flex, I discovered right away the clip inside the center console for holding the insurance card and registration. Pointed that out to the sales person, who was actually the sales manager, and he didn't even know it was there. He said to me, you should sell these! I

It is too bad you can't use the dealer I worked with, he could find what you want, and pretty persistent at it too. He found something for me that was as close as I could get, and got it for a really good price too. It has everything I was looking for, in the secondary color I wanted, I preferred Ink Blue, my secondary was Cinnamon, the only thing it doesn't have that I wanted is the tow package and roof rack, but has everything else I had on my list, including the interior color. The best part of the entire deal was I did not have to haggle over the price, I knew what these sell for, and made a fair offer, and they accepted it, but in addition made it so it was more affordable for me, while still making money on the deal. When all was said and done, I paid less than dealer cost on the Flex, and I did not have to haggle on trade, or talk them down on price, and to me, that is what makes a good dealership. I have a Toyota Dealer that will do the same thing, but I doubt I would ever buy another Toyota.

Got a call from the dealer this afternoon. He has told me my car has begun production and I should expect it by the end of April. This is better news. I asked him for a VIN and told me he would get one by later today / tomorrow.

With that VIN I should be able to confirm the order date, the options (to ensure they ordered it right) and an ETA if I call FORD CANADA CUSTOMER SERVICE, right?

If I get approval on Monday/Tuesday to get my Flex ... I hope your story isn't going to be my story. If that is the case, I might just as well wait about 4 months, say late summer and order a 2011 Flex.

There are two dealers here in town, one has only 3 flex mobiles and the other about 5. None of them are EcoBoost and I only think 2 of them had the panoramic roof but none had the navigation.

I hope you get yours soon. I want mine as I'm planning to go up to Wildwood (West of Edmonton) for a week end visit with the Flex before fall.

Are you in Edmonton? I have gone through all the dealers stock and only 1 in Alberta came close to what I was looking for. I really needed DVD headrests from the factory and none had it.

I would say ask the dealer for the real truth. Maybe mine didn't get allocation until recently, he never told me that but 4 months is WAAAAY too long for a factory order.

If they do have to order it, hold off because I believe they are getting ready to pump out 2011's in the next week or so. I woudn't be surprised if mine is one of the last 2010's to roll off the line.

This is getting RIDICULOUS!!! I ordered my Loaded Flex except two tone roof on Dec 23,2009. My dealer told me 5-8 weeks maximum. Last week I got my build date of April 5,2010 and delivery is Unknown, but 4-6 weeks is a realistic estimate he tells me.. THIS is BS. I planned on ordering the wife a 2011 Lincoln MKX in June. Ford can keep both of these vehicles now. Wonder if I will ever get my $2000 deposit back. I see no point in buying a 2010 when it arrivews in MAY or JUNE, when the 2011 Flex will arrive a month or two later.. SCREW FORD....

I am / was frustrated too! On more than one occasion I felt like cancelling the order, but I had invested all this time (plus $1000 deposit) on this vehicle. I just keep thinking how a Limited Ecoboost with 355 hp and AWD will soften me back up when it comes in!!

BTW, what color did you get and is it Ecoboost?

I ordered a Black EcoBoost flex with every option except two tone roof and there Crappy Remote start. I agree with u, that once the vehicle arrives all might be for given. BUT when the 2011 will arrive in a few months, is it really worth buying. You know that ford always gives great deals in late summer to BLOW OLD inventory ( 2010 ) So purchasing the vehicle in Late may if lucky or early June is kinda stupid I think. Just my opinion, not sure what to do. I wanted this vehicle in DEC of 2009 when I first ordered it ... LOL One thing I know ( FORD ) gave US all a line of BS

They really do have to do something about the majority of their dealers, but hang in there. I have 1,500 miles on mine now, and I'm really happy with it. The mileage is decent. The kids love the size of the back seat. I bought the rear tray from partscheap.com and have been able to carry some very large, messy, loads without making a mess of seats. The performance with ecoboost is great. However, the feature I've been most happy with is the quiet. They really put a lot of effort into keeping out road noise.

One major issue for me, iPhone's don't work well with Sync. Ford didn't have any warning about this when I ordered, but there is a warning in the Sync forum now. There's a rumor that the problems will be corrected with a patch, but no guaranty.
